[00:00:04] But I'm doing this teaching series on the Holy Spirit. And so when we're talking about the Holy Spirit, we're talking about the spiritual realm. We're talking about the invisible realm. Okay? And I get excited about this. I'll explain in a moment. [00:00:23] Can we just pray before we start? I'm going to pray at the end as well, because I believe this is not just you accumulating a lot of knowledge over the next couple of months as we do this. This is about God wanting to do a deep work in each and every one of us. Okay? This could change our lives. What I'm about to say this morning could change our lives. How many wants their life changed unless you're just okay with your life as it is? [00:00:53] So I just want to pray. Just bow with me this morning. So, Lord, we acknowledge our need for you, and we invite you here by your spirit today in this place to come and do a deep work in our hearts. [00:01:14] Lord, I pray this morning that as I open up your word, that, Lord, you would do something deep. [00:01:23] Father, I pray first that you would bring understanding, because we need to understand your word. But secondly, Father, I pray that you would then do your work in us to enable us to live out what you are telling us to do. And you're instructing us to do so, Father. Lord, as your word goes out, will you just make it grow in our lives? Make it fruitful? Lord, pray that it will fall on good soil today and that will last a lifetime. [00:01:58] For your glory. In Jesus name, amen. Amen. How many of us know that we need to grow our spirit? Man, look at the person next to you. Look into their eyes, okay? Because you are looking the fleshy part of them. They may look very beautiful. They may have really nice washed hair this morning. They may have a really great outfit on, okay? But that is not who they really are. You do know that that is not who they really are. All right? We have a spiritual realm that is a spiritual reality more than the physical reality, okay? And the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is a gift to the church. [00:02:46] I just think sometimes the church doesn't realize the gift that we have been given, and I'm hoping this morning that I will be able to kind of pad that out a little bit. But, you see, the Holy Spirit, who is a gift to the church, enables us to live a full life in Christ. If you don't believe right now that you are living or experiencing the full life in Christ that you look, you see others live in. Listen up today, because the full life in Christ is for everybody. [00:03:20] For everybody. I would go as far as to say that without the Holy Spirit, without acknowledging his presence, his mission, his gift, his power, his personhood, without acknowledging that it is not possible to live the full christian life and experience that Jesus talks about in scripture, we can try to live our lives. We can try to be good. [00:03:51] We've all been there, right, where we try to impress people by our own goodness, by our own standards, and we've tried so hard to be the good christian person. But you see, what happens is in those situations, instead of being led by the spirit, we're led by our flesh. And I'm going to pad that out a little bit later. We're led by the self. And what happens is we then very quickly go to being legalistic in our lives. Ever met some legalistic christians? [00:04:25] Oh, you can't do this, you can't do that. And they tell you what you can and can't do. And it's always to do with the flesh. It's always to do with a physical aspect. [00:04:35] Yes, there's a fine line. [00:04:38] Yes, there's a fine line to purity. But the thing is, when we are led by the spirit, he teaches us how to live. He guides us and leads us into all things. [00:04:52] But when we are led by ourselves, we soon go into legalism. That's where we get a religious spirit that grows up within a group of people when they try to heap the good works on people. [00:05:08] And what happens is our love goes very cold quickly. [00:05:13] If you try and do things yourself in a fleshy way, I'm telling you, your love will grow cold for people. [00:05:20] Yes, you might love Jesus, but your love will go very, very cold for the things of God. But when we live for Christ, when we are fueled by the Holy Spirit, we are fully alive, fully awake, living out his purposes in our lives. Someone said that what Christ made possible, the spirit makes personal and actual. So what Christ has done for us, the Holy Spirit comes and makes it personal in our lives. [00:05:54] Today I want to look at the nature of the Holy Spirit. [00:05:59] What or who is the Holy Spirit? So sorry if this is basic and going over some basics with everybody, but I just feel as a church, especially a new church and some new christians in this room today and some younger christians, that we need to sometimes go over the basics. Okay. I wonder what goes through our mind when we think of the word spirit. [00:06:20] Do you remember, for those of you who've been church a long time, do you remember? Everyone used to say the Holy Ghost, but we've kind of realized that saying ghost probably isn't very helpful today because of different ghostly things that the world talk about. But what comes to mind when we think of the Spirit realm? The word spirit refers to the immaterial part of a person. [00:06:45] But make no mistake, the spirit is still the person, but it is immaterial. It's the immaterial part of the person. Now, you can't find the spirit. It's not like an object. Let's go and look for an object, or let's go and look for some kind of thing out there. You can't go and look out for it physically. [00:07:09] But the spirit is real. The spirit doesn't have a size. [00:07:14] And what's really helpful in scripture is that scripture actually contrasts flesh and spirit. Anybody know some of those passages? Yeah. Do not be led by the flesh, but the spirit. [00:07:25] So the flesh is material. The spirit is immaterial. Before we look at the nature of the Holy Spirit, I think it would be really good to look at how we are made up as people, our personhood. So some of you, this is going to be new for some of you, you know this, okay? We are made up as humans. Three parts. [00:07:48] Three parts. [00:07:50] We have the eternal part of us, right? That's the spirit and the soul. And then we have the flesh, the body. So we are spirit, soul and body. [00:08:05] Okay? I know this is the bit of the teaching part, so really try and listen up to this. This is going to be really important. Okay? Now, all of these parts can be divided. [00:08:15] But at the beginning of time, when God created us, we were never meant to be divided. Our bodies were not meant to decay the way they do. But because of sin. We know sin then leads to death. [00:08:30] And so what happens? We have all these diseases now and cancers. [00:08:36] Horrible things that happen to our bodies because we are decaying. Our physical bodies are decaying. I don't know. I look in the mirror now and I'm gearing towards 50 and I'm like, ooh, ooh. Things are gearing a bit of. I won't say, but our bodies are decaying. And so our flesh is our body, then our soul. Our soul is our mind, our will and our emotions. [00:09:06] And our spirit is the spirit in us that relates to God. And this is really important. Okay? This is really important. [00:09:16] If you are a believer in Christ, right? Our body at death will be sewn into the ground and it's gone. [00:09:28] But who we really are, the invisible part of us, the soul and the spirit will carry on and carry on and live. It's the eternal part of us. If we are alive in Christ, we will go to be in the presence of Jesus. [00:09:47] This is the sad news. And that's why we exist as a church, really, for those who do not believe in Christ, okay, they will be eternally separated from God, eternally sobering. [00:10:07] And this is why this is going to be so important. [00:10:11] One, thessalonians five. [00:10:14] This is just to back this up. Paul says, I pray that your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless until the coming of Jesus Christ. Now, what's really important, so we get the flesh bit. Yeah. We've all got the body. What's really important is that we distinguish between the soul and the spirit. This is really key now, this is really key for us. Hebrews four says that it's possible. This is what the word of God, the word of God says. It's possible to divide spirit and soul. [00:10:46] Spirit of soul. Okay? Now, while the soul and the spirit are very closely linked, we know that they're very closely linked. They are separable. They are separable. Okay? And so often what happens in our lives as christians, the soul tends to dominate our personhood. [00:11:11] There are times in my life when I know the soul part of me, my will, my emotions, my feelings, my mind dictate. [00:11:22] But they shouldn't. [00:11:24] It should be the spirit man in me that dictates. [00:11:30] You probably know yourself, you probably know yourself when you're acting soulish or when you're acting in the spirit, okay? [00:11:43] And it's easy, let me tell you, before you feel any shame about that. It's really easy to tap back into our emotional state, our feelings. [00:11:54] It's very easy to do that. [00:11:56] But that's why it's so important that daily we say, holy Spirit, come, come and fill me over and over and over again at the point of rebirth, okay? The point where we say yes to Jesus Christ, and I love it in this room today that we've had people who said yes to Jesus Christ, a whole load of us said yes. Jesus Christ. At that point of new birth, at that point of regeneration, where we put our faith in Jesus Christ, it is at that point that the Holy Spirit comes and rests and breathes his life into our spirit. [00:12:37] It is at that point when our spirit man that was dead comes alive. [00:12:44] Okay? Let me just say that again. When we put our trust and faith in Jesus Christ, we say yes to him. The spirit of God comes and breathes life on our spirit, and we are now alive in Christ. [00:13:03] Up until that point, we are spiritually dead. [00:13:08] Sometimes you may have conversations or look at the news or look at people and go, how could they act like that? Well, actually, the answer is very easy. [00:13:16] They're acting in the flesh. [00:13:20] They're letting their own will and mind and their own ways. They're letting that dictate. [00:13:27] But for believers in Christ, we are to be led by the spirit. [00:13:35] Led by the spirit. And Nicodemus, you know the passage, Nicodemus, the Pharisee who came to Jesus and he said, how can I be born again? I can't go into my mother's womb again. Like, that's impossible. And Jesus said to him, this is how you are born again. No one can come unless they are born of water and spirit. Now, we know water in the Bible, in scriptures, represents the Holy Spirit. [00:14:07] Jesus says, rivers of living water will flow out of you, in you and out of you. He is meaning the Spirit. So in other words, we cannot be born again unless the spirit in a person is reborn. [00:14:26] Not the soul, the Spirit, the Spirit, because it is our spirit mandev that connects to the Holy Spirit. [00:14:41] And over the coming weeks, we're going to go into more and more teachings of this. But the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ, is the spirit of the Father and the Holy Spirit, when our spirit comes alive, connects with his spirit. That's how we communicate with Goddesse. [00:15:04] And our role is to allow him to lead us. [00:15:09] That is when there is real freedom. [00:15:13] We no longer have to go. Do you know what? I've got to follow these rules in order to win my salvation. We don't have to do that. You are free church, free from legalism and rules. [00:15:27] But the thing is, when we are led by the spirit of, you don't want to break rules because there's a holiness and there's a purity that he's leading you with. And he leads us into all truth and understanding. And it's based on love, not fear. [00:15:44] That's why a person who has the Holy Spirit on the inside of them and connecting with the Holy Spirit every day can love somebody who's been so atrocious to them, who can forgive the worst of people, who can turn the other cheek. [00:16:03] Because it's the spirit of God dictating, not the flesh, not the will, not the emotions. It's the spirit of God. [00:16:12] Paul in Galatians 220 said, I have been crucified with Christ. I no longer live, but Christ lives in me, the life I now live in the body, in the tent. I live by faith in the son of God. Who loved me and gave his life for me. Paul's talking about the body, the tent, inside. There is something greater in him. I'm not living. I'm not dictating. I'm not letting my emotions and feelings and my circumstances lead me. There's someone greater living on the inside of me, and it is the spirit of Christ. It is the spirit of God. [00:17:01] Turn to these scriptures really quickly because these are going to be used young people. Bring your paper copies. Highlight them, underline them. The first one really quickly. Two Corinthians four. [00:17:16] Two Corinthians four. [00:17:21] I got so excited. I sat on my sun lounger whenever it was hot this week, and I love it because we've now got a quiet garden. I had a really noisy garden before, and we've moved. I've got a quiet garden, but it's not so quiet anymore because I'm going round it, shabba dabbering and just praising and sorry, neighbors, but I got. My spirit came alive. Church. Do you ever read scripture and your spirit's just bursting because of the revelation that God wants to bring? Let him bring that this morning. So. Two Corinthians four, seven. It says this. I can't read, and I won't go through all of it. It says, but we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We have this treasure in earthen vessels. [00:18:20] We have a treasure. [00:18:22] What do you think Paul's on about? The treasure? It is the life, the vibrancy of the Holy Spirit living on the inside of us. That's the treasure. That's the gift of that we have. Church. Wow. And Paul goes on, and for time. I can't do this. When he goes, I'm perplexed, and all these things happen, but I am not down and I am not crushed because of the life of Christ in me. And then go quickly, underline it. Two Corinthians 416. This is powerful. You'll know it. Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet our inward man is being renewed day by day by day. Hallelujah. [00:19:08] Hallelujah. Be renewed day by day by day. Let me go on for a light affliction, which is but for a moment is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. For we know that if our earthly house, this tent is destroyed. We have a building from God, a house not made with hands, but eternal in the heavens. Where are we seated? [00:19:52] In heavenly places. [00:19:55] Those two verses, treasure in earthen vessels. The treasure of the life of God by his spirit in us. [00:20:03] And we do not lose heart because inwardly we are being renewed day by day. I believe the church is absolutely starved for this revelation of being inwardly renewed day by day to grow the spirit man. To grow the spirit man. So the body houses who we really are. The soul is that part of us that will emotions our mind. [00:20:31] And the spirit is how we personally connect to God. I love Mary when she says, my soul magnifies the Lord, but my spirit rejoices in Goddesse, my savior. Incredible. [00:20:47] How we view our personhood. [00:20:50] How we view our personhood is really important on how we live as disciples of Christ. And this is really important. I wish somebody, I wish I'd have known this. I think we ought to teach it to our children. Actually, I believe God could reveal all this stuff to them. [00:21:05] How we view our personhood matters because if we are three parts, spirit, soul and body, okay, our spirit as christians should be dictating our soul. [00:21:19] Our soul should then be dictating our bodies. [00:21:23] Sometimes I come in on a Sunday morning and my body is a bit tired. [00:21:30] Anybody get that? Or is it just me? Your body's a bit tired, but I get my spirit. And I say, spirit, you are going to magnify God today. You're going to glorify God even if you're tired, you're going to glorify God because he's worthy, because he's the king of kings, because he died. For me, it was personal. [00:21:52] And because this truth is going on in my spirit, man, I can then tell my soul, and my soul can instruct my flesh to come on, get with it. Come on, get with it. [00:22:05] But so often what happens is we come in and our bodies are tired. [00:22:11] And if we're not allowing the spirit to lead, our bodies will lead for us. [00:22:16] They will. I know people who are sick because they've allowed, they've spoken so much sickness into their bodies and I see them physically sick as a result. [00:22:29] And so often what we do, we let our bodies dictate our souls and our souls go. Well, my body's tired. It needs a rest. [00:22:41] And there are, and yes, rest, it's fine to rest. [00:22:45] But you see the spirit, the spirit is taking over. [00:22:49] We say, lord, in every situation, every circumstance. Like Paul, I might be perplexed, I might be, you know that the situations might be so awful and challenging, but I am going to praise you. I am going to magnify you. I am going to worship you because of who you are. [00:23:14] When our spirit is in tune with the spirit of God, thats when we are fully alive. [00:23:20] That's when we are able to say no to sin. [00:23:25] We are led by the spirit. Trust me, you will sin less. [00:23:29] And it's not because you've tried more. Trust me, it's not. [00:23:35] I was speaking to a young person the other week and they said, I just can't control my anger. I said, because you're trying to control it. [00:23:44] Give the Holy Spirit full reign over your life. [00:23:49] He will help you, he will guide you. He will empower you to live in holiness and purity. You can't do it without the Holy Spirit. We will not do anything without the Holy Spirit, without the spirit of Christ living in us. See, when we're fully alive, the Holy Spirit will help us to stand firm in all situations. Why? Because he's the spirit of truth. And we're going to look at that in coming weeks. He's the spirit of truth. [00:24:18] The Holy Spirit will even help us to distinguish between our flesh and our soul and our spirit. [00:24:29] You'll be able to stop yourself in time, and it actually won't be you, it'll be the Holy Spirit. His kindness. You stop yourself before you send that email, before you send that text, because the spirit of God will go, hey, hey, this isn't right. [00:24:44] This is not of God. This isn't unity in the spirit. This is not kingdom. This is the flesh. This is your desires speaking. This is your wants. This is worldly. This is carnal. [00:24:57] How kind is the Holy Spirit? How good is the Holy Spirit? [00:25:05] You can see why it's so important that before we start looking at the Holy Spirit, that we understand how we are made up as people. [00:25:15] And just as we can distinguish between the body, the soul and the Spirit, so we can with God. And it's important to understand the personhood of God. [00:25:29] It's so exciting. Although a mystery I appreciate, but it's so exciting. The person who of God. God is also three persons. [00:25:38] We were made in the image and likeness of God, although we are not God and God is three persons, he is God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit known as the Trinity, the Triune God, the Godhead. But they are three different persons. [00:25:59] Three different persons in my life, and I'm going to say this to us, that while the Trinity is a mystery, don't try and get your academic head around it. Just accept what the word of God says. [00:26:15] And when the word of God says about Jesus and what the word of God says about the Father and what the word of God says about the Holy Spirit, go and do exactly that. Go and be on a journey with the Holy Spirit, with the Father, with the Son. I know in my own life and in my own discipleship journey, there are times when I have felt the overshadowing shepherding of the Father over my life. I have felt the times of the best friend and lover through Jesus. [00:26:44] And at times I have felt the amazing comfort of the Holy Spirit over my life. It is possible in your discipleship walk to distinguish between the three persons of the Trinity. [00:26:58] It's incredible to walk in that way. Doesn't happen overnight. [00:27:03] I'd encourage you today to go on this journey of developing your relationship with God through his spirit. But here's the thing. There is only one God. He is one. [00:27:15] He is one. It's not three gods, it's one goddess. Three distinct persons, but one God, one God. [00:27:25] Turn into the Holy Spirit. I just want to spend a couple of minutes talking about the Holy Spirit, and we will be covering it for a long time over the next couple of weeks. [00:27:35] The Holy Spirit is God. [00:27:37] The Holy Spirit is God. And throughout the New Testament, there are many, many passages that tell us that the Holy Spirit is goddesse. You'll recognize the story in acts of Sophia and Anais and Sophia, the couple that came and said they had sold everything. The early church at that time was under great persecution and people were needing the finances and the practical aspects of the church. And so I guess the apostles, they appealed, you know, for people to bring any extras and leftovers. And this couple in the early church, okay, lied. They sold some possessions, but they kept some for themselves, okay? And so when they came to the apostles and they laid their lot down, they said, oh, here's everything we own. [00:28:30] But the spirit of God, you see, he was able to work through the spirit of Peter and those in the early church to tell them exactly what was going on. My mum's like that. [00:28:42] She is so in tune with the Holy Spirit that if I was to ever lie to her, she would know about it honestly. Isn't that right? She would. She goes, no. And she. As if she sees right through me. [00:28:54] Not that I lied to her now, but anyway. But sapphire and Anais, they came, and Peter says, why have you lied to the Holy Spirit? [00:29:06] You have not lied to man. You've lied to God. So indicating that the Holy Spirit is God, that you've lied. When we have experienced the presence of God upon our lives, we've experienced the Holy Spirit. We know that we're experiencing God, right? [00:29:28] When we are filled afresh with this spirit, we know we are being filled with God. [00:29:34] So the Holy Spirit is God. The Holy Spirit. I like to put it this way. The Holy Spirit is the work of God. He actions God's will and his ways upon the earth. The Holy Spirit, he shares the characteristics of God. Did you know that? [00:29:54] He shares the characteristics of God. He is omni present. Psalm 139. I love this. My favorite psalms. It's like, where can I go from your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I make my, you know, my bed in the heavens, you are there. If I make my bed in the depths, I think, if I rise upon the heavens, you are there. If I make my bed in the depths, you are there. In other words, he is omnipresent. Some of us need to know that the Holy Spirit is omnipresent. That's why Jesus said, I'm going to send you another helper. Jesus couldn't stay in bodily form because he couldn't get around the entire world. Holy Spirit can. The Holy Spirit is here as he's going to be in South Africa and across the nations of the world. The Holy Spirit is omnipresent. The Holy Spirit is omniscient. One corinthians 210. It says, the spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. The Holy Spirit is omnipotent. Job 33. It says, the Spirit of God has made me the breath of the Almighty, gives me life. [00:31:03] Talking about the Holy Spirit's breath being the Almighty, breath being God, and we can go on and on and on about the Holy Spirit being goddesse, I want to say as well, the Holy Spirit is a person. [00:31:18] Please don't talk to me about the Holy Spirit being an it. [00:31:24] I might just have to. [00:31:28] We've got to get this right. The Holy Spirit is he. It is him. [00:31:34] He person. The Holy Spirit, the beautiful Holy Spirit. And he's part of the Godhead. [00:31:45] The Holy Spirit guarantees our inheritance. [00:31:49] Living on the inside of us, guaranteeing our inheritance, he will guide us into all truth. [00:31:59] Do you think I'm going to stop there and we're going to carry on next week? [00:32:04] Just bow your heads. Just bow your heads as we wrap up in a moment. [00:32:10] I appreciate there's been a lot of information and teaching this morning, but at the start of autumn, I think it's so important for us as a church that we recognize the presence of the Holy Spirit and not only recognize who he is, but invite him to come afresh on our lives. [00:32:42] Maybe this morning you will go away and leave this meeting, this service, and you feel challenged that you haven't grown your spirit man, that there's been some gaps. [00:32:59] And you know in yourself, you've probably operated more in the flesh. [00:33:06] But this is not to shame us. This is not to bash us on the head. [00:33:12] This is to say that there is more for the church. [00:33:17] And yes, we're going to talk about being filled with the Holy Spirit later on in the weeks to come. But this is crucial, church, that we get this, that our spirit man, that we grow the spirit in us. And how do we grow the spirit man in us? Firstly, we do what scripture says. And it says we go into our rooms and we pray. [00:33:40] We've got to get back to the basics. We lock that door. We go in. It's us and the Lord. It's us and the Lord. [00:33:48] It doesn't have to be hours at a time. [00:33:51] But you fall on your knees and you say, you cry out to almighty God, and you say, God, I need you. [00:33:59] You close that door. No one else looking on, no one else seeing what you're doing. And you close that door and you get your relationship back on track with God. [00:34:10] You hunger for him. You thirst for him. [00:34:15] You put your faith in him. [00:34:19] Second thing we do, we devour the scriptures. [00:34:23] You know, even if we read them, we haven't got a Scooby doo what they mean. [00:34:29] Let me tell you, the Holy Spirit will breathe fresh life on you when you ask him. And he will bring the scriptures to life. Maybe not at that moment, but you'll be walking in your life over the course of the year. And suddenly a revelation will come from something that was sown in your heart months ago that you read, that you didn't really understand then, but suddenly you now understand because the holy spirit has enlightened you at that right time. [00:35:05] And you will notice the change. You'll notice where you are with your siblings, young people. [00:35:11] You will notice the way you are with people in the church because some people will rub you up the wrong way and you'll go, not me today, Holy Spirit, you're leading me. You are in charge. Holy Spirit, you are the one who's going before me. I'm following your lead. [00:35:34] And so, Lord, as a church, as your people here in Newton Abbott, Father, we're sorry if we have neglected the spirit man inside of us, the spiritual, eternal part of us. Lord, that connects with you. [00:35:55] Father, I pray as we go out this week that we will be in touch with our spirit Mandev. [00:36:05] That lord, we would not operate in our souls. Lord, we actually thank you for our souls because that's who we are. We thank you for our personalities, Lord, you're not asking us to change our personalities. If some of us are feelers, Lord, you've put that in us, but you just don't want us being led by it. [00:36:30] Lord, thank you for our personalized. Thank you for our soul. Thank you, Lord, for our minds. Some of us have got incredible minds here. [00:36:37] Some of us, Lord, are incredible, have incredible wisdom. But Lord, I pray that everything we are and who we are and who we seek to be is first and foremost empowered by your spirit, alive in our spirit. [00:36:55] Help us to remind ourselves today, Lord, that we cannot be born again unless born of water and spirit. That rebirth has to happen because of our spirit, by faith in Jesus Christ coming alive. [00:37:15] So I pray over this new series, Lord, for us as a church over these weeks ahead, Lord, that spiritually would be alive. [00:37:23] Pray, Lord, for the gifts of your holy spirit to be evident in your church, Lord, because of our journey of Lord, being more aware of our spiritual state, Lord. Than our physical state that lord, we would be. Yeah. Lord, that your word, that prophecies and words of knowledge, lord, and wisdom and gifts of healing would come forth from your church in these days, Lord. [00:37:52] Father, more than anything we say, holy spirit, you are welcome here. [00:37:57] Thank you that you are the great revealer. [00:38:01] Thank you that you reveal Jesus to us. [00:38:06] So, Lord, bless your church today. Bless your word, Lord. I pray your word would move in power in these days, Lord, so we would be fully alive to live, for you to see your will, your plans, your purposes, your mission, Lord, come to pass in Newton Abbot. Father. We are believing, Lord, that you are coming back for a glorious, glorious church, lord. [00:38:33] And you have given us of your spirit. [00:38:38] Lord, I pray that this church will be a church that thrives on the wings and the wind of the spirit. [00:38:47] Propel us, accelerate us to new heights, Lord. [00:38:54] Let us glide. Let us fly. [00:38:58] Let's rest on the eagle's wings. Lord, as a church, let us not strive to do anything, Lord, but let us do things out of your empowerment, out of your presence, out of your leading, out of your guiding. [00:39:16] You can do more in our lives, Lord, in a day than we could ever do by ourselves in a lifetime. [00:39:24] So, holy spirit, come afresh. [00:39:28] Teach us, reveal things to us even as we sleep reveal things to us, Lord, that we may be who you've called us to be. [00:39:42] Thank you, Lord, for the truth that we carry this treasure in our earthen vessels. [00:39:49] Oh, Lord, this body is decaying. But you would choose to come and be fully present, fully alive in us. [00:40:00] That the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead is the same spirit that is alive in us. [00:40:09] And he will too, raise our mortal bodies. [00:40:15] For your glory. For your glory. For your glory, Lord, we honor you in the house today. [00:40:23] Amen.
