Episode Transcript
[00:00:04] Let's do a quick recap. So we started the Holy Spirit, right? We are spiritual beings. Did you know that? Right? So when I look at you, I don't. I'm not. I'm looking at your flesh, and I'm going, yeah, you look pretty and handsome and all that kind of stuff, right? But the real you is inside you, if that makes sense. Okay, this is a shell. It's a tent. It's getting old. It's wearing out. And we know that it was never meant to wear out. We were never, never meant to get old and wrinkly and all that kind of stuff. We'll leave it there. All right? But because of sin, because of all that's happened with mankind and rebelling against God, our bodies are decaying. But you see, each of us has been given a spirit of. And that spirit lies dead in us until, by faith, we accept Jesus Christ. And when we accept Jesus Christ, our spirit man connects with the Holy Spirit, the spirit of God, and he comes to live on the inside of us.
[00:01:12] Until that point, we're flat dead. We're flatlined, we're dead.
[00:01:20] That's why it's only when we receive Christ by faith, our eyes. The Bible talks about our spiritual eyes being open. We suddenly come to see things as they really are. Until then, we don't understand.
[00:01:37] Of course people want to sin if they don't know Jesus, if they don't have the holy spirit in them. Of course they want to live life how they want to. Of course they're going to say, well, if I want to do x, y, and z, I will do. Because they haven't got the mind of God. They haven't got the mind of the Holy Spirit living on the inside of them. And we are made up. And we looked last week about how we are made up. Can I just have three people really quick run out? Just really, really quick. Just three people.
[00:02:05] Thanks, Jo. Thank you. Yeah, three people here. Here we go. And we said last week, okay, we are made up of three parts. Joe is spirit the spirit part?
[00:02:17] You are the soul part, and you are the body. Okay, so we are made up of spirit, soul and body. Now, what happens is scripture tells us that we need to grow our spirit man. Right? So we looked at that. It means that we've got a. Keep reading scripture. We've got to keep praying. We've got to keep hanging out with God and understand him and get to know him more. All right? But if we don't feed our spirit man, what happens very quickly is our soul man.
[00:02:53] Sorry I said that. The soul starts taking over our lives now. The soul is where our will, our mind and emotions live, okay? It's the fleshy part of us, right? And then what happens is as our soul takes over, our body suffers.
[00:03:18] But what should happen is as we grow our spirit man. Whenever our soul man says, I can't be bothered or I. I just don't feel like it today or they've offended me.
[00:03:33] If your spirit man is alive, your spirit man is going to talk to your soul man and say, you are out of line.
[00:03:42] What does the word of God say? Because the word of God is going to be in you. What does the word of God say? We are going to live our lives not based on feelings, not based on the circumstances, but what the spirit of God is telling us. All right? And then when your body's down in the dumps. Are you down in the dumps?
[00:04:00] Your body's down in the dumps. You see, you are strong enough because your spirit is leading, not your flesh, to say, come on, body. Come on, body. You're getting up this morning. We're going down to church. We're going to be with God's people and we're going to praise the Lord.
[00:04:17] Okay, you can sit down. Thank you so much. Thank you so much.
[00:04:21] And we looked last week that the only way our spirit man connects with God is through the Holy Spirit. We worship in spirit and truth.
[00:04:34] It's spirit to spirit. It's not flesh. I'm sure all of us, I have particularly. There are times when I have operated in the flesh and we will do and we still will do.
[00:04:47] But it's good to recognize that when we go into any room or we step into serving God that we go, hang on a minute. Let's turn our spiritual antenna on.
[00:04:58] Turn it on. Our spirit man. Okay. The other thing we said was these beautiful scriptures that this treasure, which is the Holy Spirit lives in this vessel, this treasure in earthen vessels.
[00:05:14] I find it incredible that the treasure of heaven comes to live in each one of us who receive Christ by faith. I'm gobsmacked, if you actually really think about it. The treasure of heaven comes to live in us.
[00:05:32] We house the presence of God. This morning was. All I can say was I was lost. In the presence of Goddesse.
[00:05:41] I was lost. I felt the spirit here this morning amongst us.
[00:05:47] The Holy Spirit we looked at as well. The Holy Spirit is God. Please don't come to me and say it. It's around.
[00:05:53] I think it's such an insult to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God. The Holy Spirit is a person. The Holy Spirit is equal to God the Father and God the Son. And the reason why we are studying the Holy Spirit. Yes. So that we can grow in intimacy with God. I want to grow in intimacy. I want to keep growing in intimacy with God. I want to keep discovering new things and revelation. Remember, revelation isn't something a new idea like man comes up with. A revelation is what has been there all along. It's just that suddenly our spiritual man is getting a grip of the things of God like we're going to do next week when we pray and fasten and we're suddenly hearing things afresh.
[00:06:36] We're hearing things like we've never heard before. Our faith level's rising. And when the church gets to that point of realizing that the Holy Spirit is a gift, I'm telling you, there is no stopping the church of God taking over regions, over localities, over towns and making a dent for the kingdom of God in that space for such a time. The Holy Spirit has been given to the church as a gift.
[00:07:04] He's so adventurous.
[00:07:06] If only the church could realize the adventure you have with the Holy Spirit.
[00:07:12] Okay. The reason why we don't say Holy Ghost anymore is because I think it would freak some of us out because we know that carnal man talks a lot about ghosts. So if you've noticed, if you brought up in church, it was always the Holy Ghost, the Holy Ghost, the Holy Ghost. But now I think it's better we say the Holy Spirit because of the culture of our day. And what I want to say quickly before we go on is having the Holy Spirit and welcoming him and talking to him every day is as good as having Jesus with us.
[00:07:45] It is as good as having the Father with you every day.
[00:07:51] So please don't think, oh, I want Abba Father, and I'll connect with the Holy Spirit at some point. No, no, no. The Holy Spirit is our connection. Is our connection, our spiritual connection, our intimacy with the Son and with the Father. It's as good as having them every day with us in our everyday lives.
[00:08:14] Incredible. Okay, today we're gonna look, sorry, this might be a little bit boring because I do feel we have to do some basic teaching. All right. Is that okay? We are lifelong learners. Did you know that? Discipleship is a lifelong learner and I want to look at the titles and names of the Holy Spirit. Put your hand up. If you have been in the church for ten years, at least ten years, okay, 20 years.
[00:08:43] 30 years.
[00:08:46] 40 years.
[00:08:48] 50 years.
[00:08:51] 60 years.
[00:08:53] 70 years. Come on.
[00:08:57] 80 years.
[00:09:05] That's really funny. Okay, well, if you've been around for any long time, you'll have heard things like this. Are you ready? Wind of the spirit. Anyone heard that one? Wind of the spirit. Anyone heard blow, spirit, blow.
[00:09:19] Yeah. Have you heard, what's the other one? I put down the fire of the spirit.
[00:09:24] Have you heard for new christians, they're like, what on earth is that? Okay, have you heard of rivers of living water through you? Yeah. Okay, is there another one? Oh, the oil in my lamp.
[00:09:38] Give me oil in my lamp.
[00:09:41] They don't sing at Exeter.
[00:09:43] Right. Sleepy look. Yeah.
[00:09:46] Okay, so, yeah. Or the anointing of the spirit. Right? And if we're really honest, if we're really honest, a lot of us have used this terminology and we're probably not quite sure what it really means. All right, if we're really honest. So the first thing I want to do, I want to go through some of the titles and names because I'm going to bring it round at the end and we're going to, we're going to see just how incredible the personhood of the Holy spirit is and what he does in creation. All right. And through our lives. So, rdy youth, give me a wave.
[00:10:22] Are you all shy?
[00:10:25] Rdy youth? Yeah. Not young adults. Yeah. Okay, well, you need to remember this because it's going to be a quiz in two weeks time. Did you hear that? Yeah. Take your notes. There's going to be a quiz. All right. Okay. First thing we're going to talk about is the wind of the spirit. We're going to look at the wonderful effects of wind.
[00:10:47] Would you like a bit of wind?
[00:10:49] Can I tell you a true story about wind? Can I be really vulnerable as one of your pastors here? Okay. Ten years ago, this is really funny. Well, it wasn't at the time. Ten years ago, I had really bad pain at the left side of my torso, okay. It got so bad I thought I was having a heart attack.
[00:11:07] It was excruciating and I can take a lot of pain. It was so excruciating that I took myself down to a and e, convinced this pain was going right at the side of me, convinced I was having a heart attack. And they did loads of scans and then the x ray and all that kind of stuff. And this lovely male doctor comes into the room and I'm like, come on then, doctor, what's going on with my heart? And he said, there's nothing wrong with your heart. He said, but you might need to release some gas. And I said, what do you mean release some gas? The pain is excruciating. And he said, on the x ray, he said, do you know what? I can't hardly remember what he said, but I remember this. He said, your intestines are quite rare. And I'm like, wow. And he said, your intestines go round as they should, but they get to a certain place at the side of you and it goes up before it goes back down again and then through to your bowels. We'll leave it at that. And he said, so what happens is you need to be a grazer rather than eat big meals because your intestines are not pushing through the food and it's getting lodged because the food's got to go up and then down. I thought, wow, that's so I might be gassy, you know, but, yeah, so the thing is to eat little and often. So anyway, wind, we're going to look at the wonderful effects of wind. Will you turn really quickly to Genesis one? We're going to look at the Holy Spirit as wind. I just want you to stay with me today. This is really important stuff.
[00:12:49] Genesis one, it says, in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty. Darkness was over the surface of the deep. And the spirit of God was hovering over the waters. That's where we first meet.
[00:13:05] Wind. It says, the hebrew translation is literally meaning, the wind of God was hovering over the waters. Okay, so the wind of God, here we are, the Holy Spirit, there at creation, hovering over the waters. I love the fact that it's void, it's dark, there's nothing there. But the Holy Spirit is hovering.
[00:13:33] When there are empty spaces. Spaces when there are things that seem barren and the spiritual landscape looks dire.
[00:13:43] Can you imagine a church that says, okay, holy spirit. Okay. Wind of the spirit, come and hover over Newton Abbott. Wind of the spirit, come and hover over Deo Gloria. Yeah. So already this is going to help our prayer lives as we understand a fuller picture of the Holy Spirit. Number two, go to Genesis eight quickly. I love that you bring in your bibles. Please do bring your bibles.
[00:14:06] Genesis eight, verse one, it says this and now this. Just to put it in context for some new christians this morning, the fall of man has happened. God has flooded the earth, and we're here with Noah, who is in the ark. Okay. And it says at the start, at verse eight. Sorry, chapter eight. But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark. And he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed. And the rain had stopped falling from the sky. The water receded steadily from the earth. Says there, God sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded.
[00:14:55] I can imagine the breath of God breathing so vastly, so intensely, so violently for the waters to recede, to go back into their place.
[00:15:10] This is the Holy spirit. This is the ruach of God. This is the breath, the wind, the power of God. Here's another example. You don't have to turn to it. All right.
[00:15:23] Acts two, the day of Pentecost. We know this. And I don't talk too much about this. This will come later, maybe in the new year when we address this. But it says, a sound of a mighty russian wind.
[00:15:33] Can you imagine what that's like? There have been two incidences in my life when I have heard, not only heard the wind of God, but I have actually felt the effects of. Of the wind. One was in a time of prayer. Two, I was at a youth camp, and I was the one who volunteered one night to look after all the leaders children. They were all asleep in the dorms. And I sat outside in a corridor, and I was just speaking in tongues. I thought, well, I'm going to. It was the day before phones, thank goodness. I would have missed the wind of God, but I sat there in my chair. I was about 21, sat there in my chair. And all of a sudden, I'm just worshiping God. There is a wind that comes through this corridor, and I'm looking at that end. I'm looking at that end. And the doors are completely shut. The windows are shut. There is this wind, and then there is this howling, and I'm talking. It's beautiful blue skies, just the wind of God. And I experienced the presence of God on the other occasion. We're in a time of prayer and fasting, and we had a load of people out praying over them. And honestly, it was like somebody got a fan of. And my whole. I had really long hair, my whole hair, nearly as long as Matilda's.
[00:16:38] And the fan just took my hair right up in the middle of this meeting. People witnessed it. My head went whoosh and then settled down. And I felt the breeze of the Holy Spirit over me. Almost like the Lord's just saying, I'm here. I am here. Okay, so the acts two, the mighty rushing wind, the blowing of a violent wind. I want to tell you that the Holy Spirit, he is a mover and a shaker.
[00:17:09] I want him to move desperately in Newton Abbott because we can't do it in our own strength. Doesn't matter how good our programs might seem and how good the instagrams are and the reels and the.
[00:17:19] It is by his spirit, by his spirit that we're going to see and moving in our time, in our generation. Another example, quickly. Go to Exodus 15.
[00:17:31] Shoot across to Exodus 15. Are you still with me? Trying to get as much as I can. Done. This is beautiful. So one of my favorite stories in the Old Testament.
[00:17:41] The Israelites have escaped from Egypt, but the Egyptians want the Israelites back. And so the Egyptians, sorry, the Israelites, find themselves at the edge of the river, okay, the Red Sea. And they've got the pharaoh and his army. Sorry, the Egyptians coming behind to chase them. And God miraculously makes a way through the Red Sea. Stunning. Stunning. And then not only that, as if that wasn't brilliant enough, they all get to the other side. All of them. By the way, I don't hear of one Israelite drowning out of the millions that were there. Not one.
[00:18:27] I want you to remember that because we're going to come back to that in a minute. We'll talk about the sealing of the Holy Spirit. Not one of them. But then as they crossed and they got over, they came. God closed up the Red Sea.
[00:18:41] And the Egyptians, they drowned. The enemy was defeated. And this is. And Miriam blasts out in song. And this is what she says. She says in verse, hang on, sorry, 1510, she says this, but you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters. Who among the gods is like you, Lord? I? Who is like you? Majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, work in wonders again. There's that idea, that wind, that God blew the breath of. God defeated the enemy.
[00:19:25] Defeated the enemy.
[00:19:27] Some of you, you're going to have difficult, challenging situations. And this is where we need to listen to the Holy Spirit, because sometimes he may just.
[00:19:37] Just blow.
[00:19:41] Just blow.
[00:19:43] Blow my spirit.
[00:19:47] Just blow my spirit over the situation.
[00:19:53] Say he's the wind. He's the breath.
[00:19:56] We could go on and on. There's Ezekiel. The valley of dry bones. Anybody remember that one? Yeah, the valley. I mean, I love it. I haven't got time to go through it. And I want to encourage you all to make this your personal study. I really believe this is part of discipleship, that we need to go and study the Bible for ourselves. Don't just read it and do some bit of devotional stuff. We need to go and apply ourselves to study scripture. Go and do this. Make this a study. Go and where names of the Holy Spirit are.
[00:20:24] Okay, so I do need to move on. All right. But in Ezekiel, it highlights where God brings even dead things to life.
[00:20:36] Do you know the Holy Spirit can breathe on your broken body today?
[00:20:44] He can breathe health into your very veins.
[00:20:49] He can breathe life into those emotional places that you still haven't been able to heal.
[00:20:58] The wonderful thing about the breath and wind of God, he cannot be contained.
[00:21:05] He can reach the depths. He searches and knows the deep things of God.
[00:21:11] Okay, let's go really quickly on this water. The Holy Spirit is known. Do I need to we all right. Okay. The Holy Spirit is known as water. John seven. We turn really quick to John seven. I think it's really important we get these scriptures out also as well. Somebody said the other day, can we release the scriptures of all that's been covered so we can go back to them in our own time? So I think that's a really good thing. So John 737.
[00:21:40] John 737 says, on the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood up and said in a loud voice, let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. By this he meant the spirit whom those who believed in him were later to received. Up to that time, the spirit had not yet been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified. Okay, so this is before Jesus had died and he had been glorified. So it says by this he means I. So, rivers of living water. By this he meant the spirit. So the Holy Spirit is like water coming to refresh us. The Holy Spirit often in times, and I think it's going to come upon us through our prayer and fasting, that our prayers, our Lord, will pour out rivers of living water again on our lives.
[00:22:39] If you're feeling dry this morning, you're feeling a bit stagnant, ask the Holy Spirit to pour. To pour himself out on us.
[00:22:51] You know, God desires not only to give us this wonderful gift of himself through his spirit, but he desires to be with us so intimately and walk with us. Okay. The second one is dove. What a lovely thing. Jesus baptism. The dove, like a dove, came and rested upon Jesus. How amazing. Who's been baptized? Give me a quick wave. You've been baptized? Yep. Brilliant. All right. Did a dove come?
[00:23:19] No, mine would probably be a squirrel because I hate them. But anyway. But no, but a dove came on Jesus. And we have this beautiful sense of a dove in Jesus baptism. Sometimes symbolism, like a form of anointing or a sense of innocence.
[00:23:35] Okay. Of Jesus. And it's interesting because a dove as well was in Noah. Some of you know your stories. When the flood was receding, Noah sent out a dove.
[00:23:50] So the Holy Spirit is seen as a dove. I love it because it's that sense of God's in charge. He's reminded us again, he's in charge of our lives. The other one is the oil.
[00:24:01] Next week, I'll just say this, actually, next week, we want to anoint people with oil as we consecrate, as we start this week of prayer and fasting. But oil was used as a symbol of anointing and consecration. There's this lovely, I think it's two Samuel. A lovely part where Samuel anoints David. It might be one Samuel. I can't remember.
[00:24:21] And it says, the spirit of the Lord came mightily upon David from that moment.
[00:24:27] So this oil, that's what gonna anoint people.
[00:24:35] Yeah. Read one. Okay, turn to one John really quickly.
[00:24:39] I'm getting there, I'm getting there. One John.
[00:24:43] So one John 220.
[00:24:48] But you have an anointing from the holy one. And all of you know the truth. And this is interesting here, because so many times in scripture, the Holy Spirit is known as the spirit of truth.
[00:25:03] The spirit of truth.
[00:25:07] And this is good for us, because if you're ever falsely accused in life, and I'm going to come onto this in a few weeks, I felt the Holy Spirit just revealed some stuff to me last night as I was in my study. But if you've ever been falsely accused of, you know, the whole two thing of like, well, you've had your say and I've had mine. If you follow the news, you'll hear Trump is trying to defend his case at the moment between some allegations against him. But if any of you have ever been in that situation where you've had allegations against you or you've been in a messy breakup, right, he's the spirit of truth.
[00:25:42] The Holy Spirit will always come and bring things around and reveal the truth. Do you know why? Because he loves us and he's a God of justice.
[00:25:53] So if you are here this morning, and I really feel to say this, if you are here this morning and you have been falsely accused, it might have been a court case, it might have been somebody from work.
[00:26:03] They've put two and two together and come up with ten, right. I feel to say to you, just hold your peace, release it to the spirit of truth who will work all things out for us.
[00:26:19] I've seen people, I've seen the Holy Spirit vindicate people ten years down the line. I've seen grown people weeping to apologize to people in congregations when previously those people had slandered different people in church, like from leadership to whoever. I've seen 1015 years later, people come and apologize.
[00:26:46] But we've got to let the work of the Holy Spirit, the spirit of truth, so rest in that if you're going through anything like that. But here it says, the spirit of truth. Who knows the truth? If you go further down, verse 24, it says, as for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you, remains in you.
[00:27:05] If it does, you will also remain in the Son and in the Father.
[00:27:11] You see, if we've not got the spirit of truth in us, we have not got the spirit of, we've not got Jesus the Son, and we've not got the Father living in us.
[00:27:22] The only thing that's going to remain is if we have the triune goddess, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It's through the Holy Spirit in us that if that remains, we're going to be safe.
[00:27:35] We're going to be safe.
[00:27:39] So the Holy Spirit, the anointing from the Holy one, he's the spirit of truth. Fire. I don't really want to go too much on this because I'm going to pick it up another time, so I'm going to run off on that after. But seal. This is the one I really want to get onto this morning. I'm going to be just a couple of minutes. Okay? Seal.
[00:27:59] The Holy Spirit seals things if you're making packed lunches for your kids, okay? And you're doing cheese sandwiches, you grated some cheese.
[00:28:13] You want a bag that's going to be fully sealed?
[00:28:18] Because if it's not fully sealed with that little pull away, sticky thing. All right. Your kids are going to be jumping around with their lunchboxes, and I guarantee the minute they open their lunchbox, that cheese, that bag is going to be all over the place. It's going to be a chaotic mess. Okay? We need to seal things. And I want you to think of the Holy Spirit. It says, he puts a seal on our lives so that we don't end up like the cheese all over the place in life. Whether we don't really know and we're not really sure whether we're here, there or anywhere, but we're sealed.
[00:28:59] Turn quickly to Ephesians one. We're going to stay in Ephesians. So. Ephesians one, Ephesians 113 14.
[00:29:25] And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation, when you believed you would get this, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession to the praise of his glory, when you believed you were marked in him with an incredible seal. In other words, we've talked about this earlier this morning, about the Holy Spirit comes and he makes his dwelling his home with us. We are that tabernacle. We're the house where the Holy Spirit comes. He has sealed us, guaranteeing our inheritance. What is our inheritance? It is an eternity in the presence of God, with the presence of Jesus and in the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the guarantor.
[00:30:31] Nothing else. Good works is not the guarantor.
[00:30:36] Turning up every Sunday is not the guarantor.
[00:30:41] The Holy Spirit is the guarantor. Turn quickly to Ephesians 430. So just nip across and do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Do not grieve him. And it talks then about getting rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind, compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ as in Christ, God forgave you. We can only do this with the Holy Spirit's help.
[00:31:29] Again, do not grieve the Holy Spirit. You are sealed. We'll talk about this later on, about every sin will be forgiven apart from the sin against the Holy Spirit.
[00:31:42] He sealed us for the day of redemption.
[00:31:47] We're sealed by Goddesse. It's like he's put his stamp of approval on us. And I know some of you are looking at me and go, well, Esther, my life's messy, let me tell you. Can we stick to the word of God?
[00:32:04] Can we stick to what God says?
[00:32:07] He says if you have given your life to Christ in faith, you've repented of your lifestyle before.
[00:32:17] You've put your trust and faith in him. You are a new creation. You are a new creation. He has put his stamp on us. He's our protector. Do you know what it means? He is now responsible for us.
[00:32:30] He's responsible. It doesn't mean to say that, oh, I can just go and do what I want because he's responsible for me and he'll kind of help me along the way. No, it's that whole thing of the spirit man. Got Joe out. The spirit man, feeding the spirit man. So the spirit is in relation to the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is teaching us and leading us and guiding us into how to please God. It's the only way we can please God through the spirit of God in us. He's the stamp. He's responsible for us. We are marked. We are kept in him.
[00:33:04] The Holy Spirit in us is proof of our identity and status. Wow.
[00:33:12] You know what this ceiling does?
[00:33:16] It makes us secure in this life.
[00:33:21] We need people, especially in the church, to know they're secure in Christ.
[00:33:28] In every season, in every tribulation, in every difficulty, in every challenge, when things and prayers are not being answered. At that point, the church needs to know, hey, but we are sealed by the Holy Spirit, sealed in him. You know what sealing also does?
[00:33:55] It protects us. I want us to really get this because I don't think we do. As the church, it protects us from anything life can throw at us.
[00:34:07] I'm not saying that when a challenge comes or a sick diagnosis comes from the doctor, that we're suddenly removed and everything's going to be great.
[00:34:19] But there's something deep inside us.
[00:34:24] The life of God is so deeply working in us that we are hearing the voice of God himself saying, you are my beloved. I have sealed you for the day of redemption. I'm responsible to get you home.
[00:34:43] Regardless of what's happening here on an earthly sense, I am here to get you home by faith church.
[00:34:54] We've got to accept this truth.
[00:34:57] Life may throw so much at us, and yes, sometimes we are healed instantly. Sometimes we are rescued. Sometimes that relationship that was broken does get mended, sometimes it doesn't.
[00:35:12] But in it all, we are sealed.
[00:35:17] It's gonna be okay.
[00:35:20] Because the triune God lives in us.
[00:35:26] We are secure.
[00:35:28] Secure that he is working all things out.
[00:35:33] Will you just stand with me this morning? Sorry, you've had to go through a bit of a long one this morning.
[00:35:43] Yeah. Just close your eyes, maybe where you are, if you feel too.
[00:35:50] This treasure, this treasure that we have. What a treasure.
[00:35:58] It's why, you see, for as long as God gives me breath, there's no other way to goddess but through Jesus Christ. There's no other way.
[00:36:11] I can't. I appreciate and respect other faiths, and some of you here may have other faiths, and I respect you, but there is only way. I have to preach. Jesus is the only way.
[00:36:25] And the Holy Spirit, he is the spirit of truth. There's no other truth. There's no other concept or I revelation other than he is the spirit of truth. And the Holy Spirit is a gift to us.
[00:36:42] As we've looked at the symbols of the Holy Spirit, wind, fire, water, it's so that we will interact on a deeper level. It's so that our prayer lives. When we pray, we say, Holy Spirit. We're now starting to see, we're starting to connect now about how you are moving across the face of the earth, how you are interacting with people.
[00:37:15] I love it that you know where there are such dark places across the face of the earth. The Holy Spirit is turning up.
[00:37:24] He's turning up. I love hearing in muslim nations where the spirit of God is coming and revealing Jesus to people who are hard atheists who are convinced and put their faith in another God.
[00:37:47] Maybe this week, maybe this week you need the living water to come and refresh you. Just start interacting. Maybe hold your hands out, just, you know, no one's watching you, no one's interested in you. This is between us and the Lord. Maybe you need the living water to come over you. This week you're saying, you know, this prayer and fasting week couldn't come at a better time.
[00:38:11] Spirit of the living God and calling out, water, water of your holy spirit, come and drench this thirsty soul. Come and drench this thirsty soul. Me and my household, Lord, come and refresh. Come pour your water. Maybe some of you here this morning, you need the wind of the Holy Spirit to blow over your dry bones. Maybe you need the wind of the Holy Spirit to come and heal your body.
[00:38:38] And you say, Lord, will you come and breathe your breath over me, over my dry bones, over this broken body, the oil of anointing.
[00:38:53] Maybe if some of you this week say, Lord, I need your anointing, that's the smearing of the Holy Spirit over us. And what the anointing of the Holy Spirit does. The anointing enables us to go into those places, those hard places and usher in the presence of God. The anointing allows us to speak the words of God, not of ourself, but of the spirit and the heart of the Father.
[00:39:30] So, Lord, you're doing something so new in this place. Lord and Lord, we give you by your spirit permission to hover from seat to seat just like you did in Genesis. You hovered and you moved and you breathed life and you created life and you did things that seemed impossible, like part waters for a time to get people safely through and then you covered them up to dash the enemy.
[00:40:08] I just want to say, Holy Spirit, thank you that you are leading this church.
[00:40:16] Lord, we are sorry if we have ever gone ahead and tried to do things. Lord, I can't imagine what the church would look like if your holy spirit was not in the full operating seat.
[00:40:32] God, we don't ever want to be a church like that where we just operate without you.
[00:40:40] So help us all this week, in our individual lives, in our workplaces, in our schools, our universities, wherever we are, Father, that we would, Lord, grow our spirit, man, and be in tune with your holy spirit, less of us and more of you.
[00:41:01] That we may decrease, that you may increase. May God bless his word. Let your word move in power in our lives, Lord, in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
[00:41:23] I.
